Russia is interested in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said today.
“Yes, I can affirm that Armenia has asked for support in mediation between Yerevan and Ankara. Russia is interested in the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and has declared several times that it is making efforts in this direction. Russia is ready to contribute to this in the future as well. The start of this process will, in our opinion, unquestionably improve the overall situation in the region and help shape a friendly-neighborly atmosphere. We will definitely provide information when it becomes practical,” Zakharova said during today’s briefing.
