China has said it will strengthen its space governance over the next five years to better protect its assets and interests, including exploring plans to build a near-Earth object protection system and cooperating with other countries.

According to a white paper released by the Chinese government, China will also strengthen its space traffic control, improve its space debris monitoring system, and build an integrated space climate monitoring system.

At the same time, China will strive to actively participate in the development of international space regulations within the framework of the United Nations and work together with other countries to solve problems related to the long-term sustainability of outer space activities.

China will actively participate in discussions on international issues and the development of relevant mechanisms, such as space environment management, near-Earth object observation and response, planetary protection, space traffic management, and the development and use of space resources, the official document says.

Domestically, China will accelerate the development of a national space law and establish a legal system based on law to promote the legal management of the space industry.
