ASA's first manned mission under the Artemis program to land on the moon will take place no earlier than 2026, NASA Inspector General Paul Martin during a hearing of the subcommittee on space and aeronautics.
Given the time it takes to develop and test NASA's next-generation human landing system and spacesuits, we estimate that the date for a crewed moon landing is likely to move to at least 2026, Martin said.
The first four Artemis missions are expected to cost $4.1 billion each.
