Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone conversation with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres, Anadolu reported.

At the meeting, during which he discussed developments surrounding the war in Ukraine, UN Secretary-General Guterres briefed President Erdogan on his talks in Moscow and Kiev, the Turkish presidential communications office reported.

During the conversation, Erdogan noted that Turkey is ready to provide maximum support to the UN-led studies both on the Humanitarian Contact Group and on evacuation and humanitarian aid.

Erdogan said that Turkey calls on Ukraine and Russia to "act with common sense and on the basis of reconciliation." He added that Ankara "will continue its efforts to overcome this crisis and establish peace with determination and sincerity.
