It is necessary to first resume the work of the Russian and Ukrainian negotiating teams, and in this context, the ball is on the side of Kiev, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

His remarks came while commenting on the question about the prospects of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, RIA Novosti reported.

"Zelenskyy wants a meeting for the sake of a meeting. We assume that first, we need the negotiating teams to resume work - the ball has been on the Ukrainians' side for almost two months now," Lavrov told reporters after talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Lavrov also added that the Russian side's vision of the next version of the draft agreements was handed over to Kiev in mid-April. "Since then, we have not received any feedback," the Russian FM said.
