The Ministry of Transport of Syria said that the brute Israeli aggression that targeted Damascus International Airport’s infrastructure Saturday caused heavy damage to the airport’s airstrips, SANA reported.

“Landing and departing flights were suspended today till further notification as a result of the Israeli aggression, since it caused heavy damages to the airstrips in several localities and to the navigation lights in addition to the damages occurred in the airport lobby,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that “the Civil Aviation personnel and national competent companies are working together to fix the damages.”

Air traffic shall be resumed in corporation with air carriers as soon as the rehabilitations are accomplished, the ministry concluded.
