Apple has finally abandoned the services of former chief design officer Jony Ive, the website of The New York Times reported.

Ive left Apple back in 2019, but still provided consulting services to the company. According to the NYT, the contract under which the designer consulted with his former employer recently expired and Apple decided not to renew it.

It is noted that such a decision could be made in view of the problems that for Ive created his connection with Apple in the new partnerships. According to the NYT, because of the contract, Ive had to coordinate all new deals with his old employer. This condition created difficulties for the designer's new company, LoveFrom.

Jony Ive worked at Apple for almost 30 years: from 1992 to 2019. During that time, he played a key role in the creation of the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
