Petak shopping market in Yerevan has reopened Tuesday—ten days after the big explosion at the adjacent Surmalu market, reports the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

Since Monday, merchants at Petak have been demanding the reopening of this market, claiming that they are suffering big losses ahead of the start of the new school year on September 1.

Moreover, they say that were not presented with a valid reason why Petak was kept closed to this day.

There are 16 casualties as a result of the aforesaid explosion at Surmalu market on August 14, and one missing person is still being searched for.
