The Turkish company Baykar, which produces combat drones, has presented the prototype of a new such UAV, Anadolu Agency reports.

The Bayraktar Kizilelma (Red Apple) combat drone prototype developed by Bayrak Makina was presented for the first time Tuesday at an aerospace exhibition in Samsun, Turkey.

According to Selcuk Bayraktar, the technical director of Baykar Savunma (Defense) company of Turkey, this new combat drone is equipped with a jet engine and modern control sensors. It has the ability to "maneuver aggressively" and is also endowed with artificial intelligence.

This drone is planned to be manufactured in the plant that Baykar Makina is going to build in Ukraine.

Kizilelma's first flight is slated for 2023.
