It is unacceptable when one country invades the sovereign territory of a neighboring state, the representative of Ireland Paul Gavan during the discussions in PACE on Azerbaijan's latest aggression against Armenia.

He noted that all the actions took place in the territory of Armenia. Moreover, the strikes were carried out on settlements and civil infrastructure. This is all well documented. Including strikes on Jermuk, where numerous residential and tourist facilities were hit, including a cable car, three hotels, a sanatorium and a café, and 200 houses and the municipality building were damaged. The Armenian government reported the deaths of four civilians.  One more went missing and seven were wounded. Azerbaijan does not deny these strikes and accuses Armenia of provocation.  But of course, this year more than ever, it should be clear that it is unacceptable when one country invades the sovereign territory of another. It is also important to note that as a result of this invasion, Azerbaijan continues to occupy parts of Armenian territory, which is unacceptable, he said.
