The Czech Republic has introduced an obligation for Russians to obtain an airport visa for transit through the airports of the republic. The Czech Foreign Ministry announced this on its website.

Obligation to get airport visa for transit is introduced for the Russians from November 21. Only having it, they would be able to stay in the transit zone of international airports in the territory of the republic.

This requirement does not apply to holders of Schengen visas, residence permits in the European Union and the European Economic Area, as well as in Japan, Canada and the United States, family members of EU citizens, diplomats and crew members of aircraft that are citizens of states - parties to the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
