French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, discussing the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, informed the press service of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

France and the US emphasized the need to immediately ensure free movement through the Lachin corridor.

"Also, the [foreign] minister and the secretary of state discussed the situation in the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, summarized the efforts aimed at the settlement of the conflict, and emphasized the need to immediately restore free movement through the Lachin corridor. The serious humanitarian consequences of the current blockade are unacceptable for the population of Nagorno-Karabakh. And France and the United States are joining efforts to put an end to this situation, through contacts between [Armenian] Prime Minister Pashinyan and [Azerbaijani] President Aliyev," the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs added in its statement.
