A number of urgent matters were discussed at the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Operational Headquarters’ meeting held Tuesday under the chairmanship of Ruben Vardanyan, Minister of State and Head of the Operational Headquarters.

The staff of Artsakh State Minister informs Armenian News-NEWS.am that the latest situation in food products, medicine, fuel, as well as infrastructure of Artsakh was presented.

Andranik Khachatryan, the director of Artsakhenergo company, noted that the energy system of Artsakh cannot withstand the current overload due to the lack of natural gas supply and the cold weather, related accidents have increased, and the power grid is in an extreme condition. The Minister of State instructed to submit proposals related to the situation to discuss with all relevant agencies and to find the most effective solutions under the existing conditions.

Minister of Social Development and Migration Armen Mangasaryan presented the course of social assistance measures aimed at mitigating the consequences of the current Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh, informing that the process of submitting respective applications for beneficiaries has started. The Minister of State instructed to ensure proper public awareness of these assistance measures so that all beneficiaries can receive the planned compensations on time.

Mangasaryan added that the distribution of some charitable cargoes that reached Artsakh is underway. Food products received in a charitable way are provided exclusively free of charge to socially disadvantaged groups. Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan emphasized the maximum transparent implementation of this process.

The issue of price monitoring was also discussed at the meeting. The Minister of State instructed the relevant agencies to continue the monitoring and pricing studies, as well as to analyze the causes of possible price increases in Artsakh.
