Iran expects Kyiv to refrain from discussing provocative topics concerning Iran in the media and to show a professional approach to the issue of international relations, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani told RIA Novosti.
"We hope that... Ukraine will refrain from discussing provocative and sensitive topics related to Iran in the media and take a professional approach to the relations between the two countries," Kanaani said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that Tehran and Kyiv have friendly relations, but due to the events in Ukraine and the fact that Kyiv was "under the influence of the political approach and pressure of Western countries," the quality of Ukrainian-Iranian relations has declined. He stressed that Tehran is interested in their normalization.
