The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has received more than 6,000 calls and visits from families of missing persons to its office in Yerevan. A total of 62 families petitioned to the ICRC with a request to find out the fate of their missing relatives and opened search applications. And 63 families found out the fate of their relatives. The ICRC delegation in Armenia published such information, summing up its humanitarian work carried out in the country last year.

According to the ICRC, 309 people from Armenia are still considered missing as a result of the conflict’s escalation in 2020, 2021, and in September 2022. As a result of the conflict’s escalation in 2020, the families of 80 missing persons were visited as part of the needs assessment of these families.

More than 1,550 verbal, audio, and written Red Cross messages were delivered to the families of those imprisoned in connection with the conflict.

The committee informs that the ICRC visits imprisoned persons on a regular basis, helping to establish and maintain their contact with their relatives.
