The Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, on Tuesday received a delegation led by newly appointed US Ambassador Kristina Kvien, and discussed matters related to the deepening of cooperation in law enforcement.

The Prosecutor General’s Office informs Armenian News-NEWS.am that Vardapetyan congratulated Kvien on assuming diplomatic mission in Armenia and expressed confidence that during her tenure, the interaction between the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia and the US Embassy will enter a new stage of development.

Ambassador Kvien, in turn, thanked the Prosecutor General of Armenia for the reception, and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in a number of directions.

During the meeting, Anna Vardapetyan presented to the delegation led by the US ambassador the agenda of reforms by the Prosecutor General’s Office aimed at improving the system and bringing it into line with modern requirements.

The Prosecutor General and the Ambassador reflected on cooperation in specific directions, which related to the fight against illegal enrichment, money laundering, corruption and cybercrimes, and improvement of the institution of confiscation of property of illegal origin.
