Toyota Motor will launch a line of battery electric vehicles (BEV) in 2026, the company's press release said.
In 2030, this Japanese company hopes to sell 3.5 million electric cars, Nikkei wrote.
The BEV Factory, which was opened in May and specializes in the production of BEVs, will produce 1.7 million cars.
Thanks to the new generation accumulators and other technologies, the travel range of these cars will reach 1,000 kilometers.
In 2030, Toyota will allocate 8 trillion yen ($70.4 billion) to research, development and capital investment for the production of electric cars, hybrids and fuel cells, including half-electric cars (30 models).
Shares of the car manufacturer rose by 5.1 percent according to Tuesday's trading. In the last three months, the capitalization of the company increased by 20.2 percent: to 28.41 trillion yen.
