Sargis Khandanyan, Chair of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Head of the Armenian delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), was elected Deputy Chair of the OSCE PA General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions.
The decision was made on Monday during the OSCE PA Annual Summer Session being held in Vancouver, Canada, the NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Assuming the position of deputy chair of the aforesaid OSCE PA committee, Khandanyan also becomes Member of the OSCE PA Bureau, which is the main governing body of the Assembly.
The parliamentary platform of the OSCE PA brings together more than 320 MPs from 57 member countries.
