A group of members of the Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC) met with Melanie Joly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, at the Armenian Centre in Montreal.

During the meeting, the dire situation prevailing in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the issue of the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade threatening the safety and security of the people of Artsakh were discussed, the Armenian National Committee-International informs Armenian News-NEWS.am

The ANCC members emphasized again the importance of exercising the right to national self-determination of the people of Artsakh, stressing that it is the only guarantee of the safe and peaceful life of the people of Artsakh and that the latter can never become a subject of Azerbaijan and become a victim of genocide.

Also, the ANCC members handed to the Canadian FM a file of political and diplomatic priorities, which can be useful for the Canadian government in the matter of overcoming the crisis in Artsakh.

In her turn, Minister Jolie informed about the official opening of the Canadian embassy in Armenia in September, with her attendance.
