Germany will assist the Armenian government in the integration of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh. Niels Annen, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, told this to reporters Wednesday in Yerevan.

The German official noted that investments in renewable energy will enable Armenia to lower the cost price of electricity in the country. He assured that special attention will be paid to strengthening Armenia's energy independence.

The Central Bank of Armenia signed an agreement on access to loans for small and medium-sized businesses in the country, Annen said.

According to him, the aforesaid document signed today is a clear signal that Armenia and Germany are opening a new phase of cooperation.

"We have made progress in the fight against corruption and will make additional investments in that domain. Any investment in improving the business environment should be made to overcome problems in the region as a whole. We laud the idea of the prime minister of Armenia about the ‘Crossroads of Peace.’ We will present that project to German businessmen in the hope that they will continue the investments in Armenia’s economy," added Niels Annen.
