Armenia and Russia are negotiating on the construction of new nuclear power units in Armenia. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told this to reporters at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Armenia and Russia, which is being held in Yerevan on Friday.

Overchuk said the peaceful use of nuclear energy is an extremely important topic on the agenda of Russian-Armenian bilateral relations.

Also, the deputy premier of Russia thanked the Armenian colleagues for choosing a Russian company to carry out work to extend the operation period of Armenia’s nuclear power plant.

"The company has all the necessary experience to implement such a complex task," Overchuk added.
