YEREVAN. – Armenia’s National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan on Monday had a private meeting with Nikolay Bordyuzha, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General.

And following the extended-format consultations, Baghdasaryan and Bordyuzha held a joint news conference, NSC Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“CSTO is developing, and Armenia, as one of the most active members, is greatly engaged in this process. A new CSTO strategy and a new concept for CSTO action plan are being designed. Soon, they will be introduced for the discussion of CSTO Collective Security Council,” Arthur Baghdasaryan stated.

Armenia’s NSC Secretary also noted that the CSTO-member countries will participate in the rapid reaction units’ military exercises, which will be held this year in the Armenian capital Yerevan.

In his turn, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha noted that the security level of the Organization’s member countries—including Armenia—is several times greater than a few years ago, and, also, he underscored the need to design a new strategy that is consistent with today’s geopolitical situation.
