YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The operative intelligence teams of the law enforcement agencies will enter the houses of a number of officials; the [respective] notification process has started.

According to the information of Zhoghovurd daily, RA public officials are receiving notifications from the Corruption Prevention Commission these days. According to the information we have received, in the notification, the commission asks specific questions to the public officials and demands to state what the officials have to do with the management of this or that property.

Zhoghovurd daily had written that the Corruption Prevention Commission made a noteworthy decision that created confusion among persons holding public office. As of now, the list includes 95 persons holding public office, and it is not excluded [that] the list will increase. And, behold, this new decision has caused some concern among persons holding public office.

The thing is that the Corruption Prevention Commission, during the relevant analysis, will submit a petition to the operative-intelligence activities’ department of the law enforcement agencies to provide them with information about the property of persons holding a specific public office, which implies that as a result of this decision, it is not excluded that the law enforcement agencies enter the properties belonging to persons holding public office. Details related to everyday life will be checked... In a word, the houses and properties of the officials are under a magnifying glass.
