YEREVAN.- Urban Armenians of Syria will hardly agree to settle in the villages of Armenia, political analyst Hayk Kocharyan believes.

According to arabist Saro Saroyan, the Syrian-Armenian community’s opinion should be decisive while organizing the resettlement program.

“The resettlement of Armenians of Syria can be a good solution, but it is necessary to consider the interests of all compatriots in Syria,” he told reporters on Monday.

Kocharyan believes that considerable part of Armenians consider Syria their Motherlands and do not want to leave the country where they were born and raised.

“There are some wealthy Armenians who are ready to move, but not necessarily to Armenia, they also want to go to Europe and US,” he added.
