YEREVAN. – Along with the success, we also shall not forget that Armenia is obligated to withstand Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian hysteria, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan stated Thursday during the celebratory session devoted to Armenia’s Independence Day.

“We shall not forget that our country is located in a volatile region where numerous interests clash,” the Minister noted.

He stressed that Armenia is compelled to withstand numerous threats, starting from Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian hysteria and ending with Ramil Safarov’s extradition to Azerbaijan where he was declared a hero.

“A state is anchored in the strength of its army,” Seyran Ohanyan recalled, and added that it is the army’s strength that allows a country to present its just position and demands.

Separately, and with the decrees by Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President Bako Sahakyan, and with the orders by Armenia’s and NKR’s defense ministers, several Armed Forces members and Karabakh War veterans were awarded with medals, and many received special military ranks.
