Dec. 9, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the IMF Resident Representative in Armenia Nienke Oomes, completing her mission in Armenia and her successor — Guillermo Tolosa.

On behalf of Armenian Government, Sargsyan thanked Oomes for productive work in our country and got acquainted with Guillermo Tolosa who was assuming duties in IMF Strategy, Policy and Survey department for new markets. Before joining IMF, he was a researcher at CINVE, a Uruguayan think tank and an Assistant Professor at the University of the Republic of Uruguay.

The officials exchanged views on problems entailed by the global financial crisis. The Prime Minister outlined governmental attempts to withstand crisis consequences, its impact on Armenian economy and marked out the issues RA Government and International Monetary Fund will cooperate on. Sargsyan expressed hope that new IMF representative’s efforts will be as efficient as to date.

Oomes assured that IMF will go on with supporting Armenian reforms and assist the country to overcome the difficulties in every possible way.
