At least 32 civilians were killed over the past 72 hours in two attacks attributed to the Allied Democratic Forces in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Xinhua reports.

The attacks targeted villages in the Mambasa territory. Representatives of local civil society said the death toll remains preliminary, as search operations are ongoing.

The surge in violence has triggered a new wave of displacement in the affected villages and neighboring communities. Residents are fleeing for fear of further incursions.
