The article stipulating territorial claims against Azerbaijan, as well as Turkey, should be removed from the constitution of Armenia. Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant of the president of Azerbaijan and head of foreign policy affairs department of the Azerbaijani presidential administration, stated this in a comment to the Haber Global television of Turkey.
According to Hajiyev, the signals being received indicate that the process of adopting a new constitution is beginning in Armenia.
"When these territorial claims are removed from the constitution [of Armenia], Azerbaijan will not see any obstacles to signing a final peace treaty. Moreover, de facto peace already reigns in our region," Hajiyev added.
The Azerbaijani presidential aide reflected also on the fraternal relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan is at the table where Turkey is not, and Turkey is at the table where Azerbaijan is not. We are resolutely responding to every move aimed against the interests of our countries, and this will continue from now on as well," Hikmet Hajiyev said.
