The number of people killed in a powerful earthquake in eastern Indonesia has risen to 68 as rescue workers continue to search for people trapped under rubble, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reports.

Almost 13,000 people have been evacuated following the country's deadliest disaster since 2022.

Nearly 1,600 aftershocks have been detected in East Nusa Tenggara province since Saturday, when the magnitude-7.7 quake hit the Indonesian island of Flores.
