A meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries will be held in Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) informs.

The Russian MoD statement, however, does not mention Armenia among the participants of this event.

Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov has arrived in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on a working visit.

According to the aforesaid statement, delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS, are scheduled to attend the event.

The participants of the meeting plan to discuss urgent tasks of developing military cooperation within the CIS framework and agree on joint events of the armed forces of the CIS countries for 2027.
