Armenia’s foreign policy in 2027 will be a logical continuation of the course pursued in 2026, albeit with certain changes, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan said on November 5 during a joint session of the National Assembly’s standing committees discussing the 2027 draft state budget.
He explained that the changes were related to the ministry’s new name and expanded mandate.
Mirzoyan said the ministry’s top priority would be to create an environment of peace and cooperation around Armenia, strengthen the country’s sovereignty and independence, and support its sustainable existence. He added that, with the parliament’s support, the government aimed to make the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan a reality as soon as possible, followed by its ratification.
The foreign minister added that, in the meantime, Armenia would continue taking a number of “peace-promoting” steps and developing cooperation with Azerbaijan.
