Number of wedding and christening ceremonies reduced dramatically within the year due to the global crisis, the responsible for the Press Department of Araratian Patriarchal Diocese Eliza Manukyan informed NEWS.am, adding that the main reason is decline of people living standards.

“This year statistics is not available yet, but wedding and christening ceremonies decrease is evident”, said Manukyan and underlined that 3528 wedding entries were made in church registry.

The number of wedding ceremonies hold in several Yerevan churches last year reached 12, yet this year hardly 8 couples ask a blessing from the church, NEWS.am source reports.
