Dec. 22, Baku Court of Appeal held a preliminary hearing on appeal petition of the convicted Azerbaijani bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizadeh.

They were charged with deliberate infliction of minor health injury and hooliganism. Young men’s lawyers made a motion to allow the journalists attendance in the trial and capture on video, but the petition was denied, Azerbaijani APA agency reports.

The petition to release the bloggers on 5 000 manats bail was also rejected. The appeal hearing will resume on January 8.

As NEWS.am reported previously, on November 11, Emin Milli (Alumni Network Coordinator) and Adnan Hajizadeh (Ol youth movement leader) were sentenced to 2.5 and 2 years’ imprisonment respectively.
