The statement was made at the Stepanakert extraordinary forum of Nagorno-Karabakh’s Non-governmental Organizations, NEWS.am reports. The statement goes:

“Due to recent developments on settlement of Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict, civil society of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on behalf of NGO leadership and public experts consider important to declare:

The latest statements of high-rank officials-mediators based on Madrid Principles on conflict settlement are in total contradiction with Artsakh’s and Armenia’s interests.

We, representatives of NKR civil society, consider the imposed scheme of the settlement illegal, unjust, immoral and fatal for the whole South-Caucasian region.

We assert that the negotiation process without Karabakh’s involvement proved inconsistent. We call the mediators and the sides of the negotiations to radically reconsider the format of the talks, fundamental principles and devote oneself to the actual peacekeeping and not unleashing a new phase of the conflict.”
