The RA Statistical Service reported a 14.4% decrease in the gross domestic product in Armenia in 2009.

Also, industrial output decreased by 7.8%, electric energy output by 7.2%, gross agricultural output by 0.1%, construction volume by 36.4% and foreign trade by 27%.

Exports showed an annual decrease of 34%, and imports by 25.3%. Retail trade showed a 1% increase and the services sector a 1.3% increase. A 113.1% increase in the number of officially registered unemployed people (82,900) was registered.

The AMD/USD exchange rate averaged 363.28 AMD.
