Positive progress in Armenian-Turkish relations before Armenia-Turkey football match is possible, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated at June 21 press-conference, as Turkish Zaman newspaper informs.

The Minister considers Armenia-Turkey relations settlement a national issue of Azerbaijan. According to him, this is in Turkey’s interests.

Davutoglu outlined two processes: Armenia-Turkey rapprochement and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, that are not alternative to each other and underlined Turkey has requisite will to establish Armenia-Turkey relations. “We continue parallel talks, as after the Prague meeting Azerbaijani-Armenian negotiations progressed. We went through a tangible distance within last year. Blocked conflicts cannot be resolved in a year, it takes time,” Davutoglu said.

As to the question whether positive progress in Armenia-Turkey relations is possible till Armenia-Turkey football match, the Foreign Minister concluded: “Yes, it is possible.”
