OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairman Matthew Bryza won’t leave the organization in the near future and hopes to have more efficient work in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, denying rumours on his appointment as US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bryza informed Azerbaijanian ANS Agency June 15, 2009.

“I was not going to leave OSCE Minsk Group in July. On the contrary, I hope to have more efficient work in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement”, he said.

Bryza believes that as an OSCE Minsk Group mediator, has made an active contibution in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.

US Embassy to Azerbaijan has also denied the rumors on Matthew Bryza’s appointment as US Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

To recall, on June 4, 2009 US President Barack Obama appointed Anne Darcy for the position of US Ambassador to Lithuania, which US Department of State is still to approve. It is not clear yet, who and when will hold the position of US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Lithuania. She will leave Baku in summer this year.

Note, she has been US Ambassador to Azerbaijan since May 2006.
