January 28, 2010, French rescue teams pulled a 17-year-old girl Darlene Etienne alive from the rubble of a collapsed school in the capital Port-au-Prince, msnbc website reports.

According to the rescuers, it was a miracle that she had survived for more than two weeks trapped in the debris. The teenage girl was shocked, dehydrated and had an injury to her leg. She was given oxygen and taken to a French field hospital for treatment.

As NEWS.am reported previously, January 12 a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti followed by 5.9 and 5.5 aftershocks. Another powerful 5.9 and 6.1 magnitude tremors struck Haiti on January 20 and 22 respectively. January 23, local authorities officially announced the end of rescue and search operations in the country.
