The Ministry of Energy of Georgia is inviting tenders for a contract for constructing a coordinated hydroelectric system in Zemo Mktvari, Samtskhe Javakhk region.

Business Georgia reports that the contract stipulates the construction of a hydroelectric system (two or three HPPs) with a maximum capacity of 137-219 MW and designed average annual output of 714-1,205kwh. The project is estimated at U.S. $410-604m.

The deadline for tenders is April 28. A memorandum will be signed with the winner company. The company will be obliged to sell al the energy generated by the hydroelectric system to any client in Georgia and export the rest to Turkey.
