YEREVAN. – Wednesday is the last chance for getting married on a “gold” date and having a “gold” date on a marriage certificate. 

The desire to take advantage of this last “chance” has compelled the couples in Armenia that plan on tying the knot to apply to the country’s civil registry offices months ago, so as not to miss out on the chance to have their marriages registered on 12.12.12; that is, on December 12, 2012.

The survey, which Armenian News-NEWS.am conducted at the civil registry offices in capital city Yerevan, reveals that in the case when 2-4 couples wish to wed on an ordinary day, the number of such couples that apply on “gold” dates—such as, 07.07.07, 10.10.10, 11.11.11, 12.12.12—grows much more. 

As case in point, the Yerevan civil registry offices alone will register 76 marriages on Wednesday, but, still, there will be numerous other weddings without registration.
