Former British Premier Tony Blair defended U.S. intrusion in Iraq while giving testimony to a panel investigating UK role in Iraqi war. Being questioned for six hours, Blair also said he had no regrets about his actions.

“Responsibility, but not a regret for removing Saddam Hussein. I believe he was a monster, that he threatened not just the region but the world,” British Telegraph quotes Blair.

According to British Times, hundreds of protesters gathered near conference centre in Westminster, chanting “Blair lied, thousands died!” and “Jail Tony!” slogans.

Tony Blair also commented on recent developments on Iran, saying the country poses a serious threat. He also added that presently Iran is destabilizing situation in the region.
