YEREVAN. – The prices of consumer goods in Armenia have increased by 3.2 percent in 2012, National Statistical Service official Gurgen Martirosyan stated during a press conference on Friday.

In his words, from the food items solely the price of sugar has dropped, and by about five percent, whereas the prices of other food items have increased in the country this year.  

Overall, and on a twelve-month basis, the food item prices have increased by three percent, the non-food items, by 5.7 percent, and the services’ fees increased by 2.1 percent.

Also, the inflation rate somewhat accelerated in December, as the prices increased by 2.1 percent, as compared to November.
