On February 9 Iran starts enriching uranium to 20%, said the head of Iran’s atomic energy agency Ali Akbar Salehi, BBC reports.

The uranium enrichment works will be held in the nuclear centre, near Isfahan city, Associated Press informs.

Earlier, February 7, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attended the opening ceremony of laser technology plant and ordered Vice President and Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi to begin enriching uranium to 20% with the centrifuges.

According to him, Iranian authorities will send an official letter to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and inform the international community of Iran’s decision.
