A group of leading world physicists arrived in Armenia on a three-day visit to discuss the prospects of Yerevan Institute of Physics.

As RA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan informed journalists on July 23 meeting, that based on reports the delegation submits to Armenian Government, the Institute development prospects will be grounded. He also pointed out that the Institute’s international integration is a priority for Armenian Government.

“Fulfillment of the program might become a considerable step forward in intellectual resources that will further lead to development of state economy,” Yeritsyan emphasized.

Head of the delegation, researcher Yuri Hovhannisyan says the program will catch up with 18-years’ retardation of Armenian science. However, research areas, structure and status of YPI should be reconsidered to succeed in integration, the need of consulting with renowned scientists emerged, Minister stated.

State budget subsidizes the Yerevan Physics Institute and this particular project.
