The PACE Monitoring Commission will prepare its report on Azerbaijan by this July, PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel stated during his visit to Gyanja, Azerbaijan.
The document will highlight issues related to the country’s development and existing problems. As he voiced his personal opinion, Herkel pointed out mass media freedom problems. He said the report will highlight other problems as well.
The co-rapporteur said that he plans meetings with NGO and civil society representatives, and member of opposition parties. The visit results will be made public at a news conference, Herkel said.
PACE Monitoring Committee Co-Rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel and Joseph Debono Grech arrived on a visit to Azerbaijan on February 8 to prepare a report on the country’s meeting the CE requirements. The visit will last until February 13.
