Several employees of British Premier Gordon Brown appealed to the civil service for his abusive treatment at work. According to the Service head, within last year 3-4 calls were received from his employees.

The issue grew urgent after the publication of Andrew Rawnsley’s book “The end of the Party” telling of prime minister’s explosive behavior, which was based on interviews with witnesses in the government – top officials and functionaries.

In one of his interviews Brown called all accusations in the book a lie and provocation, aimed at discrediting him before the elections, that might entail Labours’ unseat from the Downing Street.

However, Brown’s colleagues came to defend him. First Secretary of State Peter Mandelson called Premier “impulsive” and “emotional”, but in no way harsh. According to him, Brown is very demanding of his employees, but this has nothing to do with any offence or disrespect.
