Among post-soviet countries Ukraine is rated a leader in consumer price growth with 8.6% increase as of H1 2009. The second rated is Russia (7.4%), followed by Belarus (7.3%).

Other countries were reported as follows: Armenia (5.2%), Kazakhstan (3.9%), Tajikistan (2.8%), Lithuania (2.4%), Latvia (2.1%), Georgia (1.3%) and Kyrgyzstan (0.6%).

Deflation as of H1 2009 was registered in Moldova (-1.8%), Estonia (-2.1%), and Azerbaijan (-3.2%), BelaPAN reports. Prices jumped 2.7% in Uzbekistan. Data on Turkmenistan was not reported.

As for inflation rates, leaders are Ukraine (1.1%), Tajikistan (0.9%), and Russia (0.6%).

Prices in Georgia and Estonia remained unchanged. Armenia, Lithuania and Moldova reported 0.3% inflation, whereas Kyrgyzstan and Latvia – 0.5%, Azerbaijan – 0.6%, Belarus and Kazakhstan – 0.4% each.
