YEREVAN. – Hans Christian Kofoed Charitable Foundation of Denmark will receive 10 million drams (approx. $24,640) in financial aid from the Government of Armenia.
From April to July 2013, a 10-million-dram debt was accrued at the foundation because of providing temporary shelter to 40 homeless people in Armenia. As a result, the foundation is unable to provide further service to its recipients.
Between 2001 and 2011, the expenses of the foundation were fully funded by the Danish side. But in the last 1.5 years, Armenian capital city Yerevan Municipality and Armenia’s state budget have provided partial financial support to it.
Ever since December 2011, the foundation has provided shelter and assistance to about 200 homeless people in Armenia.
As a result of its 1.5-year social and psychological work, Hans Christian Kofoed Charitable Foundation returned 37 people to their relatives, helped restore the lost social ties, and assisted 30 people to live independently.
