YEREVAN. – Armenia and Colombia will launch steps toward the development of bilateral relations, including visa facilitation between the two countries.   

Armenian and Colombian Foreign Affairs Ministers Edward Nalbandian and María Ángela Holguín reached such agreement Friday during their talk within the framework of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly, in New York City. 

Nalbandian briefed his Colombian colleague on the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the international community toward a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, informs the Armenian MFA press service.   

In this context, the Colombian FM stressed that the positions expressed by the Colombian parliament do not reflect the country’s formal position, and she reaffirmed their assistance in the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

Edward Nalbandian also met with Bulgarian FM Kristian Vigenin. They reflected on the avenues for expanding Armenian-Bulgarian collaboration, the ongoing processes along the lines of the European Union, the methods for cooperation within the framework of cooperation with the EU Eastern Partners, and the Eastern Partnership summit to be convened in Vilnius, Lithuania, in November.        

During Nalbandian’s talk with Raşit Meredow, Deputy PM and also FM of Turkmenistan, they discussed the course of implementation of the agreements that were reached between the leaders of both countries during the Turkmen president’s visit to Armenia, and reflected on the activities of the Armenian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission.  

During the talk between Armenia and Georgia FMs Edward Nalbandian and Maia Panjikidze, the interlocutors discussed the course of implementation of the agreements that were reached between the leaders of both countries, the two countries’ outlook on the processes that are taking place in the region, and the avenues for the deepening of cooperation.
