A new unique and quite efficient scenario against the freedom of speech was plotted in Azerbaijan. Representatives of the forth estate are not just detained and imprisoned for years, being put on a “black list” of “media racketeers” of oil soaked country. But all the more, the editorial offices are simply shut down always having a good reason for that.

The “black list” was worked out at the Azerbaijani Media Council sitting on July 21, 2009, APA reports. In the beginning, 71 titles were blacklisted, with 9 more being added further.

The recent bloggers arrest prove, the literary fraternity in the neighboring country – despite its bootlicking preventive measures and mean foreign-oriented propaganda – are seriously unshielded to severe sanctions of Aliyev’s regime.
